I think his word about the online comments by Palace supporters is a reminder to all of us that unpleasant, rude and offensive comments posted on sites such as this are just destructive and show the club in a bad light.

I think that fan forums such as BBS and this one aren't too bad bit it's Twitter that is the really destructive media. There are a number of fan blogs that publish an article either praising or damning a player then back it up with loads of quotes from Twitter confirming his point. It doesn't matter if 90% of Twitter disagree he will only use those that agree with him. These blogs probably wouldn't have an audience at all if it weren't for scraper sites like News Now which collate every webpage that mentions Crystal Palace into one place bringing these articles to an audience that would never have noticed them otherwise
