I always think the same about Palace catering, the 'pate de froie gras' is not kept at the right temperature. Neither was the 'pouilly fuisse' chilled adequately. No wonder the French won the World Cup......

As controversial as this may be, I actually go to a football match to watch the football - if I was going somewhere to grab a burger and a beer and the service fell as short as you all seem to think it has, then I'd simply not go there again. As far as I'm concerned, a football match is a football match and the quality (or the lack thereof) of the cuisine is of minimal importance. Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

As controversial as this may be, I actually go to a football match to watch the football - if I was going somewhere to grab a burger and a beer and the service fell as short as you all seem to think it has, then I'd simply not go there again.

As far as I'm concerned, a football match is a football match and the quality (or the lack thereof) of the cuisine is of minimal importance.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

The obvious drawback is that the latter would only be needed once a fortnight and for only part of the year. But this applies to Twickenham, and on match days there the car parks are dotted with mobile operators, who before kick-off are besieged by customers. The customers benefit from reasonable and varied food offerings (fish and chips, burgers, roast pork rolls, pizza, etc.), and the rugby union benefits from a substantial rental income without raising a finger. (And the operators appear to be making a fortune.)

They have at the rear of one of the stands the 'Village' as they call it, a larger version of our Fan Zone. It is full of different food outlets from burgers to pizzas to hog roasts & a huge beer tent doing Carlsberg, Tetley & Guiness. 8 tills all manned & behind the tills are operators who just pour drinks. There is also an Ale bar seperate from main beer tent. The place is packed. Your 1st drink costs £5 pint, BUT, you keep your polymer glass & when finished take it back& they change it for another one & at the end of the match return it to a collection point & you get £1 back per glass. This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Not controversial at all. I’m the same as you. However there are many who like to eat and drink at sports grounds, so a club like Palace ought to be able to provide a reasonable offering to make a decent profit.

I always find there's the odd kid behind the till who has no interest in how much of a rush people are in before kick off. One who I won't name or describe on the main Holmesdale outlet was just staring into space as people waited to order!

Perhaps, instead of moaning to Steve over here, all catering complaints should be addressed to the American investors - running baseball/football or whatever teams they are, they should be well up on the way of mass catering at events in a properly organised manner. Isn't it always said that American sports always have 4 quarters in a game so that you can get twice the eating and drinking in that you can with a game of 2 halves? A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers
