Yep and presumably Ayew can't even play to get game time. You can in cups. They'll be ever so pleased to see him I'm sure.

Well at least he can't score against us. Johnno etc (the HOL's Welsh contingent), your better be bloody going to this. The rest of us haven't got a cat's chance in hell of being able to go. Edited by FairweatherEagle (16 Aug 2018 8.29pm)

Can a loaned player play against his club? In the Premier League, players on loan are not permitted to play against the team which holds their registration (section 7.2 of rule M.6). Loanees are, however, allowed to play against their 'owning' clubs in cup competitions, unless they have played for their owning club in that cup during that season.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

Because the issue of conflict of interest is taken care of by the cup-tie rule; it's only possible to represent one club in any given competition, so if he played for one club in the first round and then moved before the window closed he could not play for any other club in the subsequent rounds.

I'm not as up-to-date with all this as most years... Is this still a pointless, dismal, steaming turd of a competition that should be put down like the syphilitic dog it is? (All the best metaphors are mixed, actually. Everyone says so. Pffffft to you.)

I wanted an away trip but not that far away. Millwall, Brentford or Wimbledon would have been good. No way I'm going to Swansea to see our reserve team play.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I always assumed that the inability to play against the ‘owning’ club would be as a consequence of how the loan agreement between the two clubs was worded. I didn’t realise there was a rule to cover it. You live and learn.
