Is it mad of me to want him to use his connections to bring in Defoe? I think he'll be 35 next season, a very dangerous age but we won't have to worry about him slowing down because Sunderland will be in the Championship and Defoe will want to score 20 Prem goals to get in that World Cup squad. There's not many Prem teams that could give a 35 year old full time games but we potentially could. Especially if Benteke stays and we have two very different options. If Zaha stays and we sign Sakho and Defoe, I think that would be considered a fantastic window.

I think Defoe in for Remy, plus Wickham back, plus Benteke would be a good effort. The other plus is that Sam knows Sunderland, so we should get some good pickings elsewhere amongst the squad if Sunderland get relegated. I have to say how I shuddered when Dann got stretchered off, I expected us to get overrun even more, but the tactical changes were something that we are really lacking before Sam. However, we are still only 4 points off relegation, we need something from Southampton.

BFS took us into the bottom three , for the first time in the season , so it is only right that he should get us out and keep us out of it now until the end of the season. Typical BFS rearguard action today and desperately needed. More of the same please until the nd of the season.

I think it is hopefully a moot point as to whether Sam took us into the bottom three, or whether it was a hangover from his predecessor. He certainly seems to be pulling it around now, hopefully another seven points will be enough.

Blimey. Last week you still couldn't stand him because we had no shots on target although several decent chances in on goal. This week those chances in on goal became shots on target and goals. And we still had a chance of do to score again. The turnaround was slow because of the shambolic manager before. Fitness, prep and tactics were a joke. Sacking Garner, bringing in novices beneath him and useless transfers. Grind out results consistently and you get a surprise win. Well we've just had 2 doing it that way rather than the possibility of naff all under super who. Sam is a pro. Pardew is a blagger. Each week more people see this is the case. I have never ever slagged off Sam. I have slagged off the team, the performances and results but never the man himself. Do you know why? Let me tell you. In 2000 or thereabouts he brought a Bolton team to Selhurst playing 1-4-2-2-2-. Wtf? No team plays that shape. They were superb. Brilliant. Any manager that could do that was always going to have my respect. Doesn't make him unsackable and we yet still be relegated but you saying I couldn't stand him is purely a lie to lay the ground to enable yourself to have another pop at Pardew. Get over it and yourself.

Come off it Kermit you were highly critical of him from day 1 up till now, and yes, you couldn't stand him whatsoever. It's because of Sam's confidence in his own ability that we've had a few matches with a cautious approach rather than all guns blazing.
