Of all the most useless forwards we've ever had (and there are plenty of other claimants) he was the worse.

Couldn't hit the side of a double-decker bus from five yards despite countless tee-ups from Johnny Byrne.

However, he was a tryer - even if it tried the patience of the Selhurst crowd. Still my hero though.

It’s all coming back to me. Didn’t he score a couple, including a superb chipped effort, in a 5-2 home win over Peterborough?

Did he sign from Watford?

I seem to recall our fans always resented that he seemed to be preferred to the flashier Ronnie Allen.

I believe that Dennis Uphill was signed from Watford.
Played for our club in the early 60s.

That new stand although impressive will be massive and make the rest of the ground look really dated. Which it is.
Scale black take the capacity up to say 30,000. Quicker job more balanced.

I completely agree about the new stand; it just looks like a vanity project and would further emphasise the complete lack of coherence at SP. Why not build something simpler that matches the Holmesdale stand?
