Wasn't Dean Gordon a bit good at the long throw? Not seen the likes since and it is a frustration, got to agree.

| I've noticed this a lot recently, we get a throw in deep in our own half and time after time throw it straight to the opposition who score. Happened for Kante's goal and others this season

| Dunno about Palace, but regarding throw-ins in general I'd like to see somebody take one properly! Seems like there's no such thing as a foul throw anymore... Might as well chance your arms and drop kick it, see if the ref lets it slip!

| On average there are around 40-50 throw-ins per game and on average teams lose the ball more than half the time from under-pressure throw-ins when their players are marked.Liverpool have seen the value of appointing a specialist throw-in coach as I have mentioned earlier.

| I think most fans of most teams will express the same sentiments regarding throw-ins.

| One thing that irritates me is that we throw the ball so that it bounces up and high on to the chest, then the ball falls to the ground where it is invariably met by an attackers boot and thus possesion lost. Seems to happen most of the time when attacking as in throwing it forwards or square on. COYP

| Considering the game is their livelihood, a surprisingly large number of players are incapable of taking a lawful throw-in. Wilf is one of the worst offenders. One foot usually ends up near his ear. Having said that, didn’t PVA score v Man U last season with a quickly-taken throw-in? Or was it from a free-kick? Can’t remember.

| It always mystfies me why we don't have the long throw in our Arsenal, especially in the closing stages of a game we're chasing and prepared to commit defenders forward. If wickham can get it into the box and Luka or a central defender can get the first touch and cause some chaos and opportunity for a scrappy goal then why not give it a try occasionally?
