I don't think he had much to do really, but what he had to do he did well. Nothing amazing, but solid none-the-less.

I think he is growing in confidence and wants to dominate the penalty area more. His save on 84 minutes kept us all three points. In general I don't think he makes as many stunning world-class saves as the really top keepers, but things are looking up for him (and us).

The right place at the right time

What stood out for me was his command of the box by coming for crosses which takes the pressure off. Maybe the work of the new keeper coach Dean Kiely?

I think it's really awful that he knows he is not liked or rated.

Last year the phenomenal performance against Chelsea, excellent performances for Wales, twice in Garth Cooks team of the week (I agree not necessarily everything) and some great performances over the last 6 games. On top of this our chairman, Allardyce and now Roy have publicly complemented him.

Hopefully, we can all get behind like we have with the legendary Jules.

I got slaughtered on another thread for suggesting that we don't need a keeper in this window, however I genuinely believe that Wayne and Jules are sufficiently competent to see through to the summer. I would redirect the goalkeeper money we had for a centre half/defensive midfielder to cover for Sakho, Dann and god forbid an injury to Luka.

As a lot of people have said, WH is not the best in the world but he is also not the worst. He and Jules should only be replaced by keepers that are significant improvements and I wouldn't want to be railroaded into an unnecessary and overly expensive purchase now when we can sort the situation out over the summer. Outfield cover is what is sorely needed at present. All in my humble opinion of course and I would temper this argument if the Board feel they have sufficient funds to do everything they want to do now.
