The new rule is a retrospective ban after the match so the ref on the day has nothing to do with this new rule. I like this change, but I fear that it will mean simply that refs will be even more reluctant to book a player for diving, knowing that the simulation panel will have a crack at it on Monday morning. My hope, therefore, is that the panel are up to the task and thus make diving greater threat to a team long term than it is of benefit in the short term. Only then will managers come down on players who transgress.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |
