I don't think we'll be playing 3-4-3 by the end of September. We'll be back to 4-5-1 variant.

Townsends best position I believe will be back up to Wilf and as an option for the third forward. But I don't expect him to regularly start if we actually go with 343. He's not a wing back and we have better central midfielders. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Would £20m from Newcastle. (If we can get it) be better than trying to fit him in a team he doesn't appear to fit. Personally think he'll be great as a option from the bench but I guess it depends what he thinks, he might want to move on. If we sell him and JimmyMac and Andros that's potentially £30m war chest... could pay for one or two new forwards.

Would prefer to keep Townsend for the long term as its a long season, should we need to switch play from time to time!
