Macca's been carrying a knock from way back, so it makes sense to get him totally fighting fit. It's a shame, but when fit I think it's between him, Punch and Cabaye for that spot. I'd go with him for Punch, but it's all about opinions and Sam doesn't agree with me and 3 wins makes him right.

The issue with Ledley, is that he always looks to pass back when he had the ball this year. Safe passes, maybe, but you're not going to do much with a midfielder that only does that. I like him, and think he's a great backup, but not first team, and will likely move on. i wouldn't disagree with that for now. but if the club is going to truly aspire to be consistently mid-table or above, players like JL have to be upgraded. with any injuries resulting with JL being a consistent starter, probably does not bode well.

I agree it's a concern, but if we had a good midfielder available he'd have been on the bench. Macca must be unavailable and Sam no doubt refuses to play anyone we need to carry through games. I.e- Ledley.

I would still love a fit Jimmy Mac alongside Luka. Maybe push Cabaye further forward instead of Punch or alternate Cabaye and Punch in the number 10 role
