A poor mans Ashley Young. What I mean by thy is that they are both totally one dimensional and can do one thing. Cut in to use their one foot. The only reason I'd take Young ahead of him is at least he can defend.

Absolutely nothing about Townsend at all. Take the money and run. Adds nothing to the team and defensively well the less said the better. Really disappointed but you only have to look at his exit from Spurs! Says it all really.

Not fit to carry Wilf's boots.

I would personally pay for Townsend's taxi back to Geordieland. If it meant us selling him for a decent amount of moolah and either using the money for him on a decent winger (Brady or Young) or developing KaiKai, then I'll be quite happy. Biggest waste of money in Palace history.

Get rid I say. Very disappointing, and as people have said, a one trick pony. Was disappointed to see his attitude when he was unable to play on the right. Now Wilf is away and he has the chance, he still can't play on the right! Pardew benched him which was the right decision. However, with Wilf away, we may need him to make up the wide positions until his return. Straight swap to get Gayle back anyone?
