Dowie was a 'legend' for taking us from bottom three to promotion in just over half a season.

He was a legendary cvnt 18 months later.

It takes more than one success to get the accolade and for it to stick.

I would more than agree with you there normally but in this day and age then keeping us up would have to go down in our folklore surely?

I would more than agree with you there normally but in this day and age then keeping us up would have to go down in our folklore surely?


Folklore yes I agree - a la Hilaire, Allison and Lombardo but isn't legend status something that trumps even their time with us? Ian Wright, Steve Coppell and Jim Cannon that type I mean.

I can't put TP in with the latter yet. Way too soon.

If tony keeps us up, will he get hero/legend status even above Steve coppell? What do you reckon? I say he will.


Don't get caried away. Pullis has done fantasically well but he'll need to match rebuilding a struggling side into promotion contenders, with a third place finish and a cup final to match the great Stevie Coppell.

Yeah I suppose you're right but I'm thinking of the absolute mess Pulis inherited.
If he puts that right then I'd put him up there.
Not as high as the others you've mentioned.
But not that far off.

They were not .
Holloway had lost the plot and did not know his best 11,having signed 16.
Millen steadied the ship,and Pulis has continued the excellent work.
Legend No.
But doing a great job.

I'm sure he will be awarded 'Legend' status if he keeps us up.
When he joined we were 19th with just 7 pts from 12 games and certainties for the drop !

It's not so much the players as the piss poor methods Pulis inherited.

Coppell kept us up against the odds too, on a few occasions. Got us promoted against the odds too, twice!
Pulis though I acknowledge muist even be surprising himself with how well its gone since he came in. Most people thought it would go down to the last game even if we stay up. I think not. I think we will go to Craven Cottage with nothing to play for and the lucky Palace fans that get a ticket will be partying while Fulham cry!


Wouldn't it be lovely to actually be safe against Fulham..

So unique too!

I think to be a legend you have to have an exit that keeps your reputation intact.

Dougie Freedman was definitely a legend.
