By associating themselves with football clubs, which they have made artificially successful thanks to their wealth, both have made a significant difference to how they are likely to be perceived. By the public and by authorities. Parish likes to have a media presence and chat s***. But he's a relative pauper and his PR work doesn't move the needle for him. he just likes it.

Trouble is, whenever we have shown ‘ambition’ in the past that has equated to spunking a ton of cash on substandard players then going into administration. Stability and investing in infrastructure is the way forward.

New facilities help but if we go down we are far less attractive.

For goodness sake get rational. I can hardly believe that you genuinely think that part of the reason for our relatively unsuccessful history is the attitude of some of our fans. I imagine that, like me and most real Palace fans, you enjoy being in the top division but will continue supporting the club if or when we suffer a decline. Perhaps I'm wrong (it's happened before).

A hotel would be a disaster - have you seen the Crystal Palace hotel in Crystal Palace - run down and full of council temporary housing families. Used to be a great hotel 30 or so years ago.
