For the role that we require up front and in the lone striker role you need good strength, awareness and most important high anticipation. Benteke has that in abundance. Running around like a mad man isn't the sign of a good striker. knowing what balls to chase and when to pounce is. Ie Southampton and Watford as key examples. We are Palace. Not Liverpool or Chelsea. We are lucky to have Benteke. 8 in 16 already is a brilliant return and lets not forget we are 17th. We have Big Sam in now who will instruct Benteke better than what AP was doing. Amazes me some of the slack Big Ben gets.

Den As much as I agree with how good Ian Rush was with chasing down players, you are then comparing Benteke to him Have you seen the difference in the size of these players? You will not get a player of that size running around as much as Rush who I would imagine is several stone lighter and if they did they would be knackered when we need them to be sharp Mark Hughes commented that when playing under Vialli/Gullitt they said stop chasing down full backs which you are unlikely to beat, we need you sharp when the ball is in the right areas as we need with Benteke I
