Does anyone think there is an point in not trying to offload him, doesn't seem good enough for centre back or holding midfield, cant see us getting or 8 million back

We need a full squad of 25 players, if as you believe we can't get back what we paid for him, then that means we lose money when we already have a tight budget. We can't keep buying established players, we need to develop talent too. Personally I thought he did ok in midfield, he is a young lad, come from abroad who has to get up to speed in the PL. FdB nearly ruined him, but he has shown more than enough to indicate that he can make it

I think we should loan him to the Championship and toughen him up a bit. He looked tidy on the ball, but I felt in the few times I saw him that perhaps he needed a bit more bite to play centre midfield. He's only a young lad though and certainly good enough to be a squad player, in my opinion.

Good player with time but needs to learn how to be the same under pressure. A loan to a championship club like Brentford wouldn't be a bad thing but we do need a full squad.

What a waste of money this has proved. At the end of the day Mutch still has a year to go on his contract - I believe he was given a 4.5 year contract when he signed in Jan 15.

I had and still have my doubts too, however City at home comes to mind and he did extremely well. No need for "toughening up" as some suggest, he already is too "blocky" compared to his days at Ajax. Just seems to need a little too much time on the ball. Originally posted by Lanzo-Ad

He started only 4 league games last season in an injury plagued season, can not see him playing more next season, if his stock is still high in Holland get some money back before we have another Mutch situation stagnating then goes on a free.

Hes a far better player than Mutch who'll hopefully stay in Canada...think he'll get more games next year as he does have ability!

Why should we sell him, what has he done wrong. Are you seriously comparing his contribution to that of Mutch.

People want us to buy young exciting talents from abroad but they don't want to give them any time to adjust to their new surroundings and league and bed into the team. He needs patience and a couple of seasons. We don't have the luxury of buying a team full of established £40million players so have to gamble on younger players but give them the necessary time to adapt and grow. There's very few young players that just move across an set the world alight first season. Give him time and stop being so unrealistic. I've seen people on here dismiss Wilshere as if we're too good for him. 6 years ago we wouldn't have dreamed of buying a young internationally capped talent from Ajax or someone with over 30 caps for England.
