Jimmy Mac signed on a 4 year contract back in 2014 so it was due to run out in 2018. It now appears that in 2016 a new improved contract was negotiated so this runs out in 2020. CPFC didn't announce this new contract so some sites have still got the 2018 expiry - hence the transfer links. He won't be going anywhere this summer just poor quality paper talk. Now I love Jimmy Mac and have no issue with the new contract - 2 further years seems perfect for his style of play and will take him to 32 however £50k a week is a massive contract and I am surprised he is paid quite that highly. I'm guessing after Cabeye came in any agent worth their salt got new contracts for their players. I would have guessed Jimmy was on c£35k a week so the fact that he is on 50% more is a surprise. I suspect that's why CPFC have such a high wage bill.

I'm glad Warnock is back in the PL. I liked his personality at Palace even though the results were not great in the PL. He has done a great job at Cardiff, but I really can't see McArthur wanting to switch to a club which will be one of the favourites for the drop and he also comes across as a fighter when he's lost his place in the team, rather than someone who drops their head, moans to the press (eg see CYL), or asks for a transfer.

Next season I think we’ll keep him but if Rangers were to offer him a 2/3 year contract after that I think he’ll go then! By his own admission he’s playing the best football of his career right now and I don’t think Rangers could afford him! But they’re his boyhood club and I get the feeling listening to his interviews and reading articles about him he’d love a go at playing for them before he calls it a day! Cardiff and Warnock can just f*** right off! Seriously Colin why would he?
