I think after this weekend both Boro and the Mackems are toast!! My reason for both- Sunderland because they have only got 20 points and still have to play the likes of Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and a revitalised Leicester. They would need roughly another 18 points from their remaining 10 games to have any chance of staying up!!! No chance this year. Their luck has finally run out. As for Middlesbro, their last 6 games are pretty horrendous and will effectively end any hope of survival. So it is now a straight shoot out between Hull, Swansea, Palace, Leicester and Watford to avoid the remaining relegation place. Watford probably only need 2 more wins, and Leicester should carry on their good form to survive comfortably. Although we do have some hard games, our new found resilience will see us get draws at Southampton and Liverpool (i hope!!) and also i think we will draw with both Leicester and Spurs, which will mean we should secure our safety with wins against Burnley and Hull which will give us overall the 10 points we need to secure safety

When we lost to Sunderland, most of us thought we're down. Match there results now until end of the season. We're be fine. Teams are capable of putting a unbeaten runs toghther. Everyone wrote off Leicester 2 season ago and Pearson save them. If we pass the next 3 games and after arsenal game, we remain above the bottom 3. Then we can be more confident.

Sunderland next 3 M Boro Hull Swansea C Palace Need 1 win or 2 draws in the next 3 for us Absolutely madness to write off teams. With our next 3 games. Boro have 3 winnable games.

I think we have an awful run in and month of doom coming up in April, but I think we might be really proud of our lads over the next month when points will be really hard to come by. I am hoping that when we play teams we don't crumble and therefore keep our goal difference in fact which will be a big factor. I see teams like Boro and Hull losing games by bigger margins than us.

Sunderland are almost certainly down. If Boro get in the right manager they could pull off an escape, because they already have a good defensive foundation.

It really is too early to be counting anyone out and as much as I'd like to ignore it, we have the significantly worst run-in. Next matchday (while we are playing the champions-in-waiting), Watford face S'land and Swansea play 'Boro. The result will have a significant impact on our closest rivals and make it a lot clearer as to who is going to be able to fight their way out of the bottom.

If you look at the table, close to half of the teams are involved in relegation battle. Seems like Sunderland and Hull are pretty certain to play Championship next season, but nothing is given with almost 25% of the fixture list yet to be played.

We're far from safe ourselves but fortunately, there are plenty of teams looking over their shoulders. It's still too soon to write off anyone but obviously it's most uncomfortable for those three teams sitting at the bottom of the Premiership.

Sunderland would have to have a fantastic finish to the season to stay up. They have been living on borrowed time for the last few seasons and I suspect that their time is up. I think the other two places will be from Palace, Middlesbrough, Hull, Swansea and Burnley. I can't see us winning all of the supposedly easier games, which means we will need to take points off one or two of the top teams if we are to survive another season. As ever, the bottom of the PL is shaping up to be far more interesting than the top.

Boro may struggle at the back once they stop defending with all 10 outfield players. They may do better, but there's nothing to suggest this either way.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |
